Objective of the Project

The general objective of the project is to develop the market environment for the difusion and local manufacturing of solar energy systems for industrial process heat in key industrial sectors: Food, Textile and Chemical of great potential for solar thermal uses.

Main Components

  • Component 1:

    Develop policy instruments to promote the use of solar energy for industrial process heat

  • Component 2:

    Mobilize financing for the deployment of solar energy for industrial heat

  • Component 3:

    Improve the manufacture, supply and distribution of solar energy components and systems

  • Component 4:

    Build the capacity of technical sta designing, developing and servicing solar systems

Expected Outputs

  • Development of incentive schemes & policies to promote the use and the manufacturing of solar thermal technologies
  • Setting innovative financing package targeting solar heat for industrial process projects.
  • Implementing (100) solar heating pilot projects.

  • Development of standards and best practices for manufacturing, installation and maintenance of solar thermal technologies to ensure high quality and performance.
  • Capacity building for (200) local experts in the fields of design, manufacturing, installation and maintenance of solar heating systems
