On the 3rd of October 2022, within the framework of “Solar Heating for Industrial Processes Project – SHIP” a team of technical experts from the “United Nations Industrial Development Organization – UNIDO” collaboratively with a team of representatives from the “New and Renewable Energy Authority – NREA” traveled on a mission to El-Quseir as a part of their diligent efforts to encourage greening the tourism sector and facilitate clean energy transition. The team visited “Akassia Beach Marsa Alam – El Qusier” and conducted dialogues with key decision makers at the enterprise aiming to present and promote potential partnerships to install Solar Water Heaters (SWHs) at the hotel and further amplify clean energy transition in the tourism sector especially that tourists have become more cognizant of safeguarding the environment. Discussions have also entailed a thorough explanation of the technical assistance and feasibility studies provided by SHIP project to enable the hotel to resourcefully and efficiently instal SWHs.
