The Fourth Day of The Tunisian delegation’s Visit to Egypt

On the fourth day of the Tunisian delegation’s visit to Egypt (28-September-2022), the delegates participated in a business to business networking workshop to build bridges amongst stakeholders to enhance the Solar Water Heaters’ technology in the Egyptian market. The workshop was comprised of Solar Energy Companies, funding entities and clients whom were exposed to beneficial and comprehensive technical and financial information during the workshop to pave the way for potential clients to make investments in this realm. The workshop was kicked off through the inaugural speech given by Dr.Gihan Bayoumi the National Program Officer at UNIDO, Mr.Ahmed Rezk the deputy of Deputy Regional Director of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Eng.Ihab Ismail vice president of the New and Renewable Energy Authority, Eng.Mohamed Sabry the managing director at ENCPC- Egypt National Cleaner Production Center, Mr.Mohamed Kamal the deputy director of international projects in the Industrial Modernization Center. Afterwards, Eng.Fathy Al-Hanchi the general manager of the National Agency of Energy Conservation “ANME” presented the Tunisian’s successful experience in developing the SWH market that was the cornerstone for manufacturing SWHs. Dr.Ahmed Yehia from Chemonics, elaborated and explained SWH technologies’ applications, business models and feasibility studies for residential, tourism, trade, and industrial sectors and shedding light on the local manufacturing opportunities. Afterwards Eng.Ehab Farouk general manager of Testing laboratories at NREA explained the services provided by his entity and showcased the SWH testing laboratory and finally explained the process of qualifying companies and technicians on “SWH-Egypt” platform. The audience also had the chance to learn comprehensively about the currently available revolving fund provided for implementing the SWH systems’ projects. Eng.Samy marouki, the Vice President of The Tunisian Cluster for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency “TUNICREEE”, presented the obstacles that the Tunisian SWH market faced and how they overcame it. A discussion panel was also moderated by Dr. Ahmed Yahia resource efficieny and renewable energy services manager at Chemonics Egypt to discuss SWH local manufacturing. The workshop was brought to an end through conducting networking activities to discuss and exchange notions amongst traders, potential SWH users, solar energy companies and the banking sector.
